Profit & Loss
8 questions · EasyMediumHard
Profit or loss is the difference between selling price (SP) and cost price (CP). Profit and loss percentages are always measured on the cost price.
💡 Quick tricks
- Profit % = (SP − CP) ÷ CP × 100.
- SP after a gain of g% = CP × (100 + g) ÷ 100, so CP = SP × 100 ÷ (100 + g).
- If something is sold for the same price at a gain of x% and a loss of x%, there is always an overall loss of x²/100 %.
