Ranking questions give positions from the two ends of a row or queue. Total = position from front + position from back − 1.
💡 Quick tricks
- 12th from the front and 20th from the back means 12 + 20 − 1 = 31 people.
- People between two positions = the difference of the positions − 1.
- When two people swap places, track both positions before and after.
